Savannah Findley - Vice President

  • Year in school: Sophomore

  • Major: Child, Adult, and Family Services - Youth option, and Adult & Family option

  • Reason for joining TWLOHA: I joined TWLOHA because my biggest passion in life is helping people. I have suffered with suicidal thoughts and self-harm since I was in 5th grade. I finally reached out for help my first year at Iowa State and started treatment for my depression and anxiety. I want to show people who are experience what I have - and still do - that there is hope and life does get better. I want to show them that they are not alone in their struggles and mental illness is not something to be ashamed about.

Dani Welsher - Secretary

  • Year in school: Senior

  • Major: Psychology with a minor in English

  • Reason for joining TWLOHA: I joined TWLOHA because I love everything the organization stands for. Our main goal is to provide hope and help to those who are struggling with mental illness. As someone who has been around close friends and family struggling with mental illness my entire life, I felt like I needed to be doing something more to help decrease the stigma surrounding it. It's not easy, but always remember that it's okay to ask for help and that you are not alone.

Lauren Merten - Treasurer

  • Year in school: Senior

  • Major: Psychology with a minor in English

  • Reason for joining TWLOHA: I just want to be able to help others who have suffered depression, anxiety, etc. I want to be part of a change. A little more than a year ago, I saw TWLOHA (the national chapter) on my Facebook news feed because of some other friends have liked their page. I looked into TWLOHA and there message was clear. To help others and reduce stigma. I wanted to be a part of something, not be alone and show others they aren't alone. Surprisingly when I checked the clubs at ISU I saw the name despite knowing it was the ISU Chapter's first semester and joined. I am glad it is here on campus. We are not alone.
